INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS

If you have not yet installed your printer software, please do so at

this time. Then do the following:

Find the appropriate subdirectory on this disk that matches the

character sets in your printer. Copy the file named SYMSETS.DAT from

this subdirectory to the C:\DESKJET directory. Note that there are

multiple files on this disk named SYMSETS.DAT, but you should only copy

the ONE file that matches your printer language set.

Example: to install support for Cyrillic character sets, first check for

the CYR code on the printer's serial label. Then, assuming

this floppy disk is in the A: drive, type

COPY A:\CYRILLIC\SYMSETS.DAT C:\DESKJET {Enter}

This will include the Cyrillic character sets as possible choices in

the Character Set box in the HP DeskJet Control Panel for DOS.
